Meeting Our Neighbors

SERVPRO of Upper Bucks has spent almost 20 years in business in their local community. 20 years is a long time to spend within a community, yet we've realized we've neglected the importance of actually taking the time to meet our neighbors and local businesses.

We've recently begun to refocus our attention on what matters most, our community.

First Responders

Who better to meet than those who put their lives on the line for our protection? SERVPRO of Upper Bucks supports their first responders through participation and support of their events such as; 5K runs/walks, Police Chiefs' meetings and fire department open houses. We also donate cases of water to our first responders for use during their emergency situations.

Community Events

There is no community event (or building emergency) too big or too small for SERVPRO of Upper Bucks. We are constantly welcoming the opportunity to sponsor and participate in local events. Recently, we have provided our support through volunteerism and donations at several fall festivals, inaugural concerts, Fire Department open-houses and breakfasts, Chamber of Commerce events as well as career-oriented school-sponsored programs.

Our Doors Are Always Open

We are hoping to continue to grow in our community by meeting all of our neighbors at community events and much more! We welcome the opportunity to meet with community members, business leaders, Chamber(s) of Commerce members, Police, Firemen or any one of our neighbors wishing to stop by and learn more about our business!

Give us a call or stop by the office at any time!

If you'd like to see some of the events we've recently participated in, visit our website under the community events section!

We look forward to meeting you, neighbor!

Clean Homes Sell Faster!

10/22/2020 (Permalink)

It is common knowledge that cleaner homes sell faster than ones that look like they need a good scrubbing. Potential buyers would probably prefer to purchase a cleaner house, especially if they'd like to move in sooner rather than later.

But, it is not common that all homes are maintained at the highest of standards; there could be years worth of dust, mold, and other contaminants around the home that could have never been cleaned by the homeowner.

While keeping a cleaner home could increase its market value — and could reduce your list-to-sale conversion times — you should try to maintain a cleaner home for your health.

SERVPRO can assist you with all of your home cleaning needs; we have a variety of services that could help your home become anew!

- Carpet, Upholstery, Drapery, and Blind Cleaning

- Ceiling, Wall, and Hard Floor Cleaning

- Deodorization

- Duct and HVAC Cleaning

- Mold Mitigation and Remediation

If you need any of the above services, call us today!

SERVPRO's "1-4-8" Rule!

10/19/2020 (Permalink)

Picture yourself waking up early in the morning, eager to get your day started and to get your kids to school. You slip on your slippers and proceed down the steps, only before you realize that you are about to step into a massive puddle in your kitchen that was caused by a flood!

What do you do?

Do you call the police, or fire department? Do you start to mop up the floor, or throw towels down to soak up the water?

Each answer may vary, but the result should always be the same: CALL YOUR LOCAL SERVPRO!

Time is of the essence, though, because once water has entered your home, extraction needs to occur as soon as possible!

SERVPRO strictly abides to meeting or exceeding the “1,4,8” rule. Within one hour of receiving a new loss, the client will be contacted by one of our compliance staff to schedule a time for our crew chief to come scope the affected areas.

Within four hours of scheduling, our highly-trained crew will arrive on-site to begin work. After eight hours, all current job information will be processed, uploaded and relayed to client.

Through these efforts, we strive to excel and return any home back to preloss conditions!

Our Board Up Services!

10/9/2020 (Permalink)

After an emergency involving one's own property, whether it be a bad storm, fire or water damage, many properties need to be boarded up. Board ups are done to prevent the properties from incurring any further damage before the remediation process can begin. Board ups are one thing that should be left to the professionals. Most people are experiencing emotional trauma after an emergency involving their own property. By calling SERVPRO in for a board up, it relieves some of the stress and leaves our customers with time to deal with the accident on their own time.

Aside from the board up, we also can start the remediation and restoration process as soon as possible.  Our services are available 24/7 and we always have a crew on call ready to assist in emergency situations. Give us a call today at 215-671-7777.

A Look Into Our Sponsorships

10/1/2020 (Permalink)

Our owners, Sean McCabe and Mike McGrory, are the first people to lend a hand and help sponsor groups in our community. Although most sponsorships consist of money or a check, they believe there is a greater value to gain out of these experiences. That is why in place of a check, they supply lunch, volunteers, and/ or supplies. Whether they are providing lunch during an event in the community or at one of the local chambers of commerce or association groups, they barbecue and cook everything from scratch! Some of the office staff will then come and help serve the food and run the event. This type of sponsorship leaves lasting impressions on people in a way that goes way beyond a monetary value. We build connections with people in our community while supplying them with the best lunch they have ever had! We aren’t just saying that either, everyone always raves about Sean and Mike’s cooking. We find great joy in being able to give back to our community and to the groups we are apart of.

We Help Tackle Hoarding!

3/27/2020 (Permalink)

Yesterday, March 10th, we presented at the Community Associations Institute - Pennsylvania & Delaware Valley Chapter's, 2020 Spring Managers Symposium!

The event had time allotted for attendees to learn about a variety of insightful topics, like: various government affairs, preventing workplace harassment, how to avoid burnouts at the office, and our featured presentation, "Handling Hoarders in Your Association"!

It is imperative that we share information on this disorder, as people who are hoarding their possessions have a perceived need to save them — despite the fact that their living conditions could be seriously at risk.

We shared some ways to identify these issues, how to help ensure a peaceful resolution, and to focus on the well-being of the individual involved throughout the process; their safety is a major concern!

If you have any questions about our Hoarding services, or would like to know the next time we are presenting at an event, please give us a call!

SERVPRO Helps The Red Cross Recruit Students to Volunteer

4/16/2019 (Permalink)

April is National Volunteer month, recognizing the efforts of thousands of people who intend to positively impact an important cause. Here, at SERVPRO of Pennypack/Bustleton, we strive to practice many forms of community service and are continuously humbled by the remarkable events we are able to help out with.

On Saturday, April 13th, Sean McCabe, co-owner of SERVPRO of Pennypack/Bustleton, volunteered with The Red Cross on MCCC Pottstown’s Campus. Sean aided The Red Cross in pursuing students to volunteer and to spread awareness of opportunities in the area where they can lend a helping hand.

Thanks to Sean and The Red Cross, many students were able to learn about the importance of volunteering and the positive impact it has in our communities!

If you are interested in volunteering, please visit https://www.redcross.org/volun…/volunteer-opportunities.html to find out how you can volunteer and make a difference!

National Blood Donor Month

1/16/2019 (Permalink)

National Blood Donor Month is celebrated in the United States in January each year since 1970. January is a time that sees significantly less blood donations due to the holidays, people’s busy schedules, seasonal illness and inclement winter weather. This makes January one of the most difficult times to collect enough donations to meet needs. This is what led President Nixon to declare January as National Blood Donor Month on December 31, 1969.

The American Red Cross says that nearly 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood yet only around 10% actually donate. One pint of blood can save up tp three lives! Some other benefits include:

  • Free blood tests – donated blood is tested and donor can asked to be informed if any irregularities are found.
  • Satisfaction of saving human lives
  • Calorie burn – Blood donation process burns 650 calories – about the same as an average spin class!
  • Reduced risk of heart disease – helps eliminate excess buildup of iron in the blood
  • Reduced risk of cancer – also due to reduction of excess iron buildup in the blood

To find out more on the blood donation process and where to give, visit either www.redcross.org or https://www.giveapint.org/

Frozen Pipes!

12/4/2018 (Permalink)

With the weather continually dropping, frozen pipes become a concern that all homeowners should be aware of. Aside from the lack of running water, frozen pipes are dangerous because of their potential to burst. If they do burst it will create a larger ,more dangerous problem. Here are four signs that your pipes may have frozen:

  1. Low Temperature: Obviously the weather must drop down low enough for water to freeze. When the temperature drops below 32 degrees Fahrenheit is when you should start to take precautions to avoid freezing pipes.
  2. Frost on the Pipes: This one may seem obvious as well but you should always be checking your pipes when it gets colder to ensure there is no frost accumulating.
  3. No Water is Coming Out of the Pipes: If the water from your faucet is running low, just dripping or is completely dry then your pipes may be frozen.
  4. Strange Smells: When a pipe is frozen there is nowhere for the odor to go other then back where it came from. This is why you may be smelling an odd smell from your drains when you have a frozen pipe.

Hydrating Heroes lll

11/7/2018 (Permalink)

This year SERVPRO of Pennypack/Bustleton, along with other local SERVPRO Franchises, are hosting their 3rd annual Hydrating Heroes event at the Wells Fargo Center! This event celebrates the commitment of all of our First Responders and Community Heroes. What started out as a smaller event has grown tremendously over the past three years. So much that last year the event was moved to Lot C at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. Hydrating Heroes is a tailgate event where breakfast is served, prizes are raffled away, and a multitude of cases of water are given away to the First Responder Community. Even though Hydrating Heroes is held in December of each year, we have heated tents to keep everyone warm!

Miller Keystones will also be back for a 3rd year as well hosting a blood drive on site.  This event is open to all First Responders and blood donors.

Please contact Sean McCabe at sean.mccabe@148response.com to RVSP.
